The University Baptist Church and the Baptist Housing Ministry are campus ministries of the American Baptist Churches for the University of Illinois. We are located in the midst of the Urbana-Champaign campus, just four blocks from the Quad, the center of university activity. University Baptist Church was established in 1912. The four houses were added in 1949, 1952, 1986 and 2006. UBC-BHM seeks to transform lives in the name of Jesus Christ, by impacting people in a way that faith in God is front and center in both thought and behavior. The University Baptist Church is a Christian community of memory, hope, and belonging. We are a unique unity of students, University staff, and others committed to living the New Testament vision for the people of the University and wider community. The Baptist Housing Ministry was created to provide students a cooperative Christian living environment that enhances academic pursuits. The four houses - Stratford, Koinonia, Sutton Place and "312" House - offer their residents, who come from a variety of denominational backgrounds, opportunities for spiritual and personal growth. We invite you to practice with us as we serve the University of Illinois and wider community.

What does the University Baptist Church do?
UBC is a Christian community centered around worship, study, prayer, service and fellowship. Our staff and trustees help assure this local body of believers has adequate staff and sufficient resources to carry out the work of the church as outlined in the New Testament.
What does the Baptist Housing Ministry do?
BHM provides undergraduate and graduate men and women opportunities for spiritual growth, for personal growth and for ministry. Our staff and trustees oversee the maintenance and upkeep of its physical needs. In seeking to preserve the cooperative nature of the living community within each house, we provide leadership training, mentorship and spiritual counsel.
