Rick Williams
After an almost 20-year career in secondary and higher education, Rick has recently assumed the position as Housing Minister for the Baptist Student Foundation at the University of Illinois. He holds master's and bachelor's degrees from Illinois State University and completed additional studies in Historical Theology and Christian Education at Lincoln Christian Seminary. His previous teaching experience includes college and high school classes in World, American, and Religious History; Civics; Classics; and Worldviews. For the past 8 years as Dean of Students at a Christian high school, he was responsible for spiritual formation and guidance counseling and oversaw the Bible curriculum.
He and his wife, Brenda, have been married for nearly 25 years and have two college-age children, Emily and Wesley, who both attend University Baptist Church and are active in campus ministry. In addition to teaching, he has also led conference workshops and authored numerous published articles and book chapters related to religious education, educational ministry to international students, state and local history.
